Charity Never Faileth

"And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in the iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, endureth all things.
Wherefore my beloved bretheren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth, wherefore, cleave unto charity which is the greatest of all. For all things must fail.
But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
Wherefore, my beloved bretheren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of His Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when He shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as He is pure. Amen."  (Moroni 8:45-48)

Charity is an attribute of Jesus Christ. It's a way that we are able to show our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ that we love them. WE are also able to exert that attribute to those around us and 'Love our neighbor as thyself.' Through this attribute we are able to come closer unto Christ and to be an example to those around us. Remember 'charity is not puffed up, nor seeketh their own'. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I know that through Charity we can become Christlike, we can turn outward like our Savior did for us and we can draw closer unto Him. I can testify that Charity is the pure love of Christ and that we can become like Him.
What is Charity?
"Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is the love that Christ has for the children of men and that the children of men should have for one another. It is the highest, noblest, and strongest kind of love and the most joyous to the soul" (see 1 Nephi 11:23).

Jesus Christ came down to earth to be an example to us. He healed the sick, helped the lame to walk, caused the blind to see, and He taught the Gospel through His actions. He was the most tender hearted out of us all. In times of trials, He showed us how to turn to our Father in Heaven through prayer. He was kind and caring, wanted only to be an instrument in His Father's Hands. He taught us how to love one another and to show how to serve one another. His crowning expression of Charity was when he Atoned for our sins, or died on the cross.  “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). He showed the ultimate faith through 'laying down His life' for us.
He told His disciples:
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:34-35).

As it says in the Bible that we must love one another as He has loved us. Our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ has shown us that They love us. But how do we show Them that we love them?

  1. A beautiful message.
Love was His message and His greatest example; may we all follow Him to our best ability.
